Ashley Williams

Gunnery Chief Williams is a soldier with the Alliance garrison on Eden Prime. She enlisted with the Marines straight out of high school, but despite an exemplary record she has been repeatedly passed over for a fleet assignment. Ashley is a Soldier, specializing in combat abilities.

Kaidan Alenko

Staff Lieutenant Alenko is an officer serving on the Normandy. As a teenager he received special training to hone his biotic abilities, which were the result of his in utero exposure to element zero. Humans aren't natural biotics, so he was given special implants to help him control his powers. The only side effect is occasional migraines. Kaidan is a Sentinel, specializing in tech and biotic abilities.

Liara T'Soni

Dr. T'Soni is an asari scientist and an expert on the Prothean extinction. Despite spending half her life on archeological digs in remote parts of the galaxy, her research has attracted little attention due to her young age. Liara is similar to an Adept, specializing in biotic abilities.

Urdnot Wrex

Wrex is one of the galaxy's few remaining krogan battlemasters, rare individuals who have mastered advanced biotic and combat abilities. In his younger days Wrex earned honor and recognition for his exploits in battle, but he has spent the last three hundred years as a bounty hunter, bodyguard, or mercenary. Wrex is similar to a Vanguard, specializing in combat and biotic abilities.

Garrus Vakarian

Garrus is a turian Citadel Security officer. He works in the Investigation Division, but is dissatisfied with his position because he feels that Citadel rules and procedures interfere with his ability to apprehend criminals. He received military training as a teenager, and wonders if his skills would be put to better use elsewhere. Garrus is similar to an Infiltrator, specializing in combat and tech abilities.

Tali'Zorah nar Rayya

Tali is a quarian machinist and engineer. She recently embarked on a pilgrimage in search of something valuable to bring back to her people. All quarians are required to make a similar journey, but Tali feels additional pressure to succeed because of her father's position in the quarian government. Tali is similar to an Engineer, specializing in tech abilities.
